With Slack connected, your team can ask Emma for help without leaving Slack. She answers in threads, shares files she creates, and asks for approval with buttons. Routines and the opportunity briefing can deliver to Slack too, and Emma can read recent messages in public channels when you ask her to.

Before you start

  • An organization owner or admin connects Slack. It’s one connection for the whole workspace.
  • Each person who talks to Emma in Slack needs a Reyda account in your organization with the same email address as their Slack account, and a role that can use Emma.

Connect Slack

1

Go to Settings → Integrations

2

Under Your company, find Slack and click Connect

3

Approve the Reyda app in the Slack window that opens

If nothing opens, allow pop-ups for Reyda and try again.
4

The card shows Connected

5

In each channel where Emma should answer, send /invite @Emma

If Emma doesn’t answer after connecting. Click Disconnect, then Connect again. This clears the old link and starts fresh. Also check that Emma was invited to the channel.

Talk to Emma in Slack

  • Direct message: open a DM with Emma and write as you would in the Reyda chat.
  • In a channel: @mention Emma. She replies in a thread. If you mention her inside an existing thread, she reads the earlier messages in that thread for context.
  • Files in: attach files to your message. See Limits for how many and how large. Files you send are available only to you and that conversation. They aren’t added to the library.
  • Files out: when Emma creates a document, it is saved in Reyda and attached to her reply. If an upload fails, she points you to the saved document in Reyda.
  • Approvals: actions that need approval show Approve and Reject buttons. Only the person who asked can answer them.

Who can talk to Emma in Slack

Emma answers people who have a Reyda account in your organization. This keeps your company’s data inside your company, so she doesn’t answer:
  • Slack guests and Slack Connect participants from other companies;
  • people with no Reyda account in your organization;
  • channels shared with other companies.
One person steers each request. While Emma works on someone’s request in a thread, she doesn’t take requests from anyone else in that conversation. The person who asked can add instructions to steer her. Conversations run in parallel, up to a limit. A workspace can run a limited number of Emma conversations at once. See Limits.
Channel conversations are shared. Conversations that start in a channel are stored as shared conversations. Anyone in the channel can see Emma’s replies, so avoid asking for sensitive information there. Use a DM instead.

Deliver routines and briefings to Slack

  • Routines: in Delivery method, choose Slack, then DM me or a public channel. See Routines.
  • Opportunity briefing: in Settings → Notifications, choose Slack DM or a channel. See Opportunity briefing.
Only public channels inside your workspace where Emma is a member can receive results. Private and externally shared channels are not offered.

Disconnect

In Settings → Integrations, click Disconnect on the Slack card. Emma stops answering in Slack, and Slack deliveries fail until you reconnect. Results are still saved in Reyda.
