# Where Emma works

> Work with Emma in chat, in Bid Room comments, in Slack, through her email address and in routines.

Your organization has one Emma. You can reach her in several places, and in each one she has the same role, follows the same rules and respects the same permissions.

## In Reyda chat

Most work happens in the chat pane. Click **Open Emma** in the sidebar and it opens beside the page you are on. On a phone, tap **Assistant**. Emma knows which page you're on, so she can act on the opportunity, Bid Room, document or Library item in front of you. See [Working with Emma](https://reyda.mintlify.site/emma/working-with-emma.md).

Other places in Reyda send work straight to Emma:

* **Address with AI** on a document comment thread;
* **Instruct AI** on selected text in the editor;
* **Ask Emma** on a message in the Mailbox.

## In Bid Room comments

On a Bid Room's **Overview** tab, type **@Emma** in a comment to give her a task in front of the team. For example: "@Emma draft the response plan from the buyer documents and flag anything we can't evidence". Her work and any questions show up in the room's activity feed.

**@Emma** is offered only to people with AI access to the room.

## In Slack

Once an admin has connected Slack (see [Slack](https://reyda.mintlify.site/integrations/slack.md)):

* **Send Emma a direct message**, or **@mention** her in a channel she has been invited to. Invite her with `/invite @Emma`.
* She replies in a thread. If you mention her inside an existing thread, she reads the earlier messages in that thread for context.
* Her reply updates as she works, showing progress, questions and approvals, then the final answer.
* Files she creates are uploaded to the thread.
* Approvals appear as **Approve** and **Reject** buttons, and only the person who asked can answer them.

Emma matches your Slack account to your Reyda account by email address, and works with your permissions. See [Who can talk to Emma in Slack](https://reyda.mintlify.site/integrations/slack.md#who-can-talk-to-emma-in-slack).

## By email

Emma can have her own email address for your company. Forward tender invitations, buyer correspondence and alerts to it, and she can analyse them according to the mailbox rules your admin sets. Emails Emma wants to send or reply to wait for approval, unless your admin has allowed her to send without asking. You don't need to connect your own inbox. See [Emma's email address](https://reyda.mintlify.site/automation/mailbox.md).

## In routines

A routine is a standing instruction that Emma runs on a schedule or when something happens. For example, she can run one every weekday at 8:00, or whenever a new Slack message arrives in a channel. Results always go to the conversation where the routine was set up. You can also send a copy to Slack, as a DM to you or to a public channel. See [Routines](https://reyda.mintlify.site/automation/routines.md).

Microsoft Teams and email delivery aren't available yet. See [Coming soon](https://reyda.mintlify.site/integrations/overview.md#coming-soon).

## One Emma, many channels

Emma works the same way in every channel: same capabilities, same rules about evidence and approvals, and same access to your workspace. Your conversations are saved in Reyda, and the work she does is saved in Bid Rooms, documents and the Library. To pick up work from another channel, point her at those:

Slack

@Emma what's still open on the Cork hospital cleaning Bid Room, and what's blocked?
