# Work overview

> Use the Bid Room Overview tab to manage status, assignees and dates, follow Emma's deliverables, answer her questions and discuss the bid with your team.

The **Overview** tab is the shared view of a bid. It shows the current outcome, what is moving and what needs your attention, for your team and for Emma.

## Properties

The properties panel shows:

* **Status**: the bid's stage. Change it from the dropdown. See [Stages](https://reyda.mintlify.site/bid-room/bid-rooms-overview.md#stages).
* **Assignees**: click **Add assignees** and choose from **Select collaborators**. Assigned colleagues get a notification.
* **Start date** and **End date**: the end date is the bid deadline. Edit it and click **Save**.
* **Buyer**, **Related opportunity**, **Country**, and **Files** (the number of documents in the room).
* **Phase**, **Progress** and **Deliverables**: these come from Emma's goal for the bid.

Viewers can read these properties but cannot change status, dates or assignees.

## Emma's goal and deliverables

When you ask Emma to work on the response, she creates a goal for the Bid Room. She breaks it into deliverables, such as a response plan, a method statement or a completed pricing schedule. Progress shows as "3 of 8 complete", for example.

Each deliverable shows its state. Items marked **Ready for review** need someone on your team to check them.

If no work has started yet, **Progress** shows "0 of 0 complete". Start the response work with Emma in the chat and her deliverables appear here.

## Activity and questions

The **Activity** feed lists what happened in the room: who created or updated it, changed the status, assignees or end date, uploaded files, or edited form fields, plus Emma's progress on her deliverables.

When Emma needs a decision from you, her question appears in the feed as **Needs input**.

**1. Click the **Needs input** entry**

**2. The chat opens beside the Bid Room on that exact question**

**3. Answer the question**

Choose an option, write your own answer, or click **Skip for now**.

The question stays open until your answer reaches Emma. She keeps working on anything that does not depend on it. See [Questions and approvals](https://reyda.mintlify.site/emma/questions-and-approvals.md).

## Source documents

Use **Upload document** to add buyer files or supporting material, and **Open document** to view a file. Files opened here use the same document workbench as the [Documents tab](https://reyda.mintlify.site/bid-room/documents-and-editor.md).

## Comments and @Emma

Type in **Add a comment or type @ to mention a colleague…** to discuss the bid.

* Type **@** and pick a colleague to notify them. You can only mention people who have access to this Bid Room.
* Pick **@Emma** to hand her a task from the comment. Emma reads the comment and starts working, and her progress shows in the Activity feed and in chat. **@Emma** is offered only if you can use Emma.

Comment to @Emma

@Emma please draft the answer to quality question 3 using our ISO 9001 manual and the two hospital
projects from last year.

> [!TIP]
>
> Use comments for decisions your colleagues should see later. Use the chat for longer
> back-and-forth with Emma.

## What Emma does in the Bid Room

When you ask, Emma can update the status, assign document owners and write working notes. For decisions that commit your company, such as whether to bid, pricing and submission, she asks you first. Your team submits the bid.
